GPT Image Prompts and Examples

Explore GPT Image prompt examples for product photos, layouts, and illustrations. Learn a reusable prompt structure and adapt source-attributed gallery entries.

Start with a visual brief

A useful GPT Image prompt tells the model what to show and how the image should be arranged. Begin with a subject, then add the setting, viewpoint, light, material, and space needed for your intended layout. The filtered-gallery button shows the entries labeled with the GPT Image source family.

Gallery labels describe source families, not necessarily the exact model version offered in the generator. Inspect each example's full prompt, creator, and source before adapting it. A preview shows one supplied example and does not guarantee an identical result.

A structure you can reuse

Write your brief as: subject + setting + composition + lighting + style + constraints. Remove details that do not serve the image. Three starting examples:

  • Product photo: An unbranded white ceramic coffee cup on a light gray desk, close three-quarter view, diffused daylight, realistic surface texture, and empty space on the left. No text.
  • Editorial illustration: A cyclist carrying flowers through a quiet city street, wide composition, flat geometric shapes, muted blue and coral palette, and no visible brands.
  • Poster background: An abstract paper sculpture in the lower third of a portrait composition, a dark navy background, soft rim light, and a clear upper area reserved for typography.

These are original writing examples, not measured model results. Replace the subject and composition with your own requirements, then select an appropriate aspect ratio in the workspace.

Open a prompt detail, review attribution, and choose its use action to bring the prompt into the generator. Check the selected model before submitting; for the current named model, see the GPT Image 2 generator guide.

Make the first revision about the subject or framing. Keep settings stable while comparing versions. If you need a specific object to guide the edit, follow the reference-image workflow with an authorized reference.

Build a repeatable prompt collection

Save your preferred wording together with the model and settings used. For commercial product images, inspect shape and labels rather than relying only on visual style. The product photography tutorial and poster design tutorial provide more focused exercises.
